The past few years have been challenging times for Newfoundland and Labrador salmon fishing outfitters.  After 50+ years of continuous operation, Salmon Hole Lodge could not open in 2020 or 2021 because the various levels of governments either banned non-essential travel or required all visitors to self-isolate for 14 days.  This made it impossible for our customers to plan and enjoy a 6-day fishing vacation with us.  Desperate times for sure!

Travel restrictions are being lifted (or eased) for Canadians and international travelers therefore Salmon Hole Lodge will be open in 2022.  Since we’ve been working with potential new partners and/or owners, we have hesitated to accept reservations until now – we want to get all our ducks in a row. Please check the Availability section for the weeks that are available.  Per person pricing is close to being finalized and we ask that you send your booking enquiries to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

As in the past, we host only 6 customers per week to provide an optimal angling experience for the size of our river and our facilities. Angling packages start on Sunday and end the following Saturday morning.

This pandemic has not affected the LaPoile River nor its healthy populations of Atlantic salmon and Brook Trout.  After a year or two of staying home, this is the perfect time to book your 2022 wilderness fishing adventure.  To our regular customers, thank you for your patience!

World-class fly fishing

If you are looking for a salmon fly-fishing, off-grid remote wilderness adventure, our wilderness lodge in Newfoundland can offer you spectacular Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout fishing that you will not forget.

Flowing through the southwestern region of Newfoundland, both Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout travel the La Poile river. It's uniquely remote landscape contributes to low angling pressure, above-average catch results, and breathtaking environments.

An unforgettable experience

The bounty of La Poile is matched only by the awe-inspiring landscapes that enclose the Lodge. Newfoundland’s natural beauty is both peaceful and restorative, and our government-licensed accommodations are a clean and comfortable place to put one’s feet up.

Your next grand adventure

Family owned since 1967, we offer guide service that’s second-to-none and take great pride in our satisfaction rating. The only outfitting lodge on the beautiful La Poile, our customers have a tenure spanning upwards of 35 years. Book your next fly fishing adventure, or contact us, today.
